![]() It had a big skull and welcome on it so we hung it on the gate. We had a banner from the dollar store that was really for Halloween. We put up a welcome sign on our front door directing the guests to come around back “if ye dare” so that we could be in the fenced backyard where all the games and stuff were. Also, we got some pirates of the Caribbean stuff that was on clearance from Toys R Us so that was great! We got lots of decorations from the dollar store and fortunately since the dollar store was already putting out some of their Halloween stuff it was even better we were able to get some skull things to add to the theme. We made our own treasure map type invitations on aged looking paper and rolled them up and tied with ribbon to look like a map. A pirates birthday seemed to be a perfect fit and there were lots of great ideas out there already for me to ‘borrow’ (this site was a GREAT help!). I wanted a theme that would tie in to all of that and give the kids something to do besides just swimming. And despite price of the bombs it is actually cheaper because you otherwise need to pump dozens of balls into her to sink her.My son’s birthday is in the summer so he already had some ideas about what he wanted to do (water gun fight, pool and slip and slide). for bigger ships - completely destroy her sails, sail away so she is in the middle of your mortar circle. If you want to capture her and your speed and turn radius allows you to approach her, dismasting makes little good except for reducing value of the ship.ĭismasting is for catching fast opponents of for making them ready to kill you do not have to dismast if you want to board enemy vessel. rum boosts yo crew for the entire battle, it runs out only by coming to port or using map for long sail That's why aiming line is separated into 3 fields by small perpendicular lines - they should give you idea how much damage drops with distance with your corvette being chased, you can get your broadside at your enemy, fire, and immediately turn away from his arc of fire before he can make a shot learn to play with distance - when to start your turn, attack your enemy whet he is turning through the wind, thus slowed down learn to play with sails and wind whet it comes to turning your ships Anyway, game is strange and with totally leveled up captain and fully upgraded ship, enemy will still reload as fast as you, and even dropping sails would make little difference. I thing that number of crew is connected with rate of fire. Just try to gent enough gold to have it fully upgraded. It also buffs your guys when boarding.Ĭorvette is on of the most manoeuvrable ships. If you have rum onboard the button to use it should be enabled. ![]() Rum improves your sailing perfomance as well. And raising "full sail" (toggle off the gun interface) improves your speed, but you have to switch back to battle sail to use your guns. ![]() Lowering your forward sails gives you a weather helm (turns easier into the wind) and lowering your rear sails gives you a lee helm (turns faster away from the wind).Īlso completely lowering your sails speeds up your gun reload time. You can improve turning perfomance by trimming your sails. If you're having trouble maneuvering into close range a broadside of chain shot will damage their rigging and slow them down. For capturing a ship you want to use grape shot, but it won't do anything unless they've sustained some regular damage so put a broadside of ball shot (at least) into them from long range before changing to grape and closing. They make a big difference in handling and firepower.Īlso the mortar (which is an upgrade availabe to all ships) is seriously OP and can be used to kill anything in the game when combined with some devious sailing (lead them into a lee shore and then fire over the land-mass).įor small maneuverable ships it's best to load bombs or double shot ammunition when trying to sink a target as both do double damage.
